As part of our expansion strategy, we are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive new business, build strong client relationships, and support long-term growth from our Birmingham office.

Role Overview

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, engaging decision-makers, and converting leads into long-term clients. This role requires a mix of strategic thinking, sales execution, and relationship management, particularly within the IT and software services sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in the UK and international markets
  • Generate leads through outbound activities (email, LinkedIn, calls, networking)
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders
  • Understand client requirements and propose tailored IT/software solutions
  • Prepare and deliver proposals, presentations, and commercial offers
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals in line with company targets
  • Collaborate with technical and delivery teams to ensure smooth handover
  • Maintain and update CRM with accurate pipeline and forecast data
  • Track market trends, competitors, and new growth opportunities

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Business Development Manager / Sales Manager
  • Strong background in IT services, software development, or SaaS sales
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to engage C-level executives and decision-makers
  • Strong understanding of sales pipelines, CRM tools, and KPIs
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and results-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work on-site and collaborate with internal teams

Nice to Have

  • Experience selling to enterprise, government, or SME clients
  • Knowledge of outsourcing, offshore delivery, or SaaS licensing models
  • Experience in Middle East or Africa markets
  • Familiarity with CRM tools such as HubSpot, Zoho, or Salesforce
  • Existing professional network in IT or technology sectors
